PARIS EDITION! WITH NIKE FLYKNITS AND AF1 LOWS

Packing for Paris is as daunting a task as it seems. How does one pack for two weeks in one of the coolest, most well-dressed cities in the world? My goal was to pack efficiently, so I began by narrowing down my footwear options to the Air Force 1 Low and Free Flyknits – one staple and one functional/cool sneaker.Comfort is crucial when flying for long periods of time, so naturally I opted for my favorite tech pants. I wore my AF1s to lighten the load in my suitcase, and black crew socks to keep my ankles warm and to match the cuff of the pants. The leather jacket dresses it up, as does the fedora that I wore on the plane because I couldn’t pack it. Somehow the juxtaposition of the sweats, leather and a felt hat came together well.As someone who likes to squeeze in workouts on vacation and dresses in sportswear anyway, I brought multifunctional workout gear. I wore my favorite black leggings, which could have been dressed up for a night out, Free Flyknits, and a tech fleece cape, which I later tied around my waist as the weather heated up. These pieces were perfect for a long day of walking and sightseeing.Every morning in Paris began with a fresh baked croissant from the local boulangerie (bakery). For a day of shopping in the Champs Elysees, I did my first French girl impression in leather leggings, a printed silk blouse and a blazer with Free Flyknits – my rendition of sportswear in Paris. One of the first things I noticed is that a lot of people in Paris wear AF1s. I walked past a pack of Parisian girls all wearing white AF1 lows but individually dressed so differently. What I like is that their style appeared so effortless. However, even though I promised myself I wouldn’t spend as much time in sweats, I couldn’t resist. I wore them with AF1s, a striped tee (when in France), a long trench coat and my beloved fedora.

Shoe Review: Nike Free RN Motion Flyknit

Let me tell you right off the bat…these shoes have the most flexible soles of any that I’ve tried. And by flexible, I mean it bends, squeezes, squishes, and moves in all directions with ease. For a fairly thickly padded shoe, this auxetic sole design that Nike invented is super effective. I feel that only VFFs can move in a similar manner.

When I first saw the preview for these shoes, I got really excited and hoped that they would be good or better than the Lunarepics. For one thing, Nike is advertising a 4 mm heel drop (20/16 mm) and while I realize that heel drop may not necessarily be such a big factor anymore, I do find that it makes a big difference to me. Additionally, the Lunarepics are on a 28/18 mm high platform, which I find is a touch too thick no matter how comfortable I feel in them. This Flyknit thing…it can be pretty and it can be pretty ugly. Take the Lunarepics, for example, I really like how they look, especially the Gyakousou colourway. On the other hand, they have made some stinkers in the past with the buy nike free shoes and Free 3.0.

I understand that beauty is in the eye of the blah blah blah but in this case, I don’t think anyone will disagree that the RN Motion is pretty dull and unassuming. The knit and design is laid out in a straightforward and simplistic manner. The Flyknit is ribbed providing it with a bot more texture without sacrificing its inherent sock-like quality. It feels thinner than what they used for the Lunarepic.

Inside, there is no tongue or any kind of a removable insole so what you see is what you get. The laces are a bit redundant but I suspect they will come in handy during faster paces to prevent slippage.

Nike refrained from embedding any kind of fancy designs or patterning into the knit other than straight lines originating from the base of the shoe towards its laces. The prettiest thing about the whole Mens Nike Free 3.0 V3 also happens to be the most effective: its sole.

Nike applied an Auxetics design concept that allows the shoe to expand at least a size length-wise and cross-wise as the foot moves. The “Free” concept has always been about mimicking the natural movement of our feet but so far, Nike really hasn’t come close. Even with flex grooves cut in all directions, the thickness of the sole always made it feel stiff and clunky.

In using this design, they feel that they have stumbled onto the right formula. Interestingly enough, auxetics has already been used in shoes before with the introduction of the UnderArmour ClutchFit albeit on the upper only.

Nike Free 5.0 Running Shoe

The new nike free shoes is a comfortable shoe fits like a glove and had my feet saying, “Ahhhhh!” at first try. The extreme flexibility from the grooved sole allows your foot to move as it wishes, not how the shoe wishes. Yet the insole provides arch support and the shoe provides enough cushioning to make every walk or run a joy. The shoes come with a recommended training schedule to slowly build your time in them, as your feet and body adjust to the extreme freedom.Several of my walking buddies started showing up in Nike Free 5.0 shoes and I simply had to try them.

Fit
I have avoided Nike for years because their narrow toe box and lack of widths made them unwearable for me.

But the Nike Free 5.0 fits like a glove. I can wear a thin sock with it or go barefoot in it.

Flexibility
The Nike Free 5.0 imitates being barefoot. The outsole is grooved so that each inch of the foot can flex as it naturally wishes to do. The result is a shoe that is a pleasure to wear, but one you are recommended to ease into wearing.

It comes with a schedule to slowly build up your time in the shoe as your body gets used to the extreme flexibility. But being flexible doesn’t mean being sloppy. Walkers more than runners need a flexible shoe to allow the foot to roll through a step. I didn’t realize how limiting my other lightweight, flexible shoes were until I put on the Nike Free 5.0.

Upper
The upper is comfortable, suede-like, and designed to move with the foot. The Mens Nike Free 5.0 V4 feels great without socks. Most important for me, it doesn’t irritate my bunion.

Fast
My immediate reaction was wanting to racewalk in them. Although the heel is extended in the running version, you can get a great heel plant and roll-through for a fast walking stride. These shoes make my feet want to zoom.

Nike designer Tinker Hatfield explains that you can manually adjust the shoes.Nike gave Michael J. Fox a pair of Nike Mag shoes with self-lacing shoes on Oct. 21, 2015, the date when the actor’s character in “Back to the Future: Part II” traveled from 30 years from the past. Hatfield wrote to Fox at the time that Nike was creating “more pairs for support in aid of the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2016.”

Hatfield said on the Nike website today, “Wouldn’t it be great if a shoe, in the future, could sense when you needed to have it tighter or looser? Could it take you even tighter than you’d normally go if it senses you really need extra snugness in a quick maneuver? That’s where we’re headed. In the future, product will come alive.”buy nike free shoes
